“Cornwall Winter Sunset - December 2022”

Wishing you a very merry Christmas and
a happy New Year in 2023

many thanks if you are amongst all our many wonderful loyal customers who have yet again bought our publications during 2022.

My special thanks also if you are one of the many who continue to very kindly send to me so many messages of thanks and appreciation on receipt of your purchases.

In case you are still planning to buy our Isles of Scilly 2023 Calendars and have not yet done so or anything else such as greetings cards from us in time for Christmas and the coming New Year please do so as soon as possible. We are working hard to get orders to you promptly despite the postal delays caused by the current series of national strikes by U.K. Royal Mail workers disrupting postal services.

Still on offer and even more popular this year:

There is no need to add your free copies into your “basket” when checking out with a qualifying order – we’ll do this for you.

Your extra free copies will automatically be added into your order prior to dispatch without incurring any extra Postage and Packing cost.

This Special Offer is valid until further notice and whilst stocks last.

A word of explanation: If you are one of the few who have encountered any problems recently when shopping online via our website at the final check-out payment stage this can sometimes be due to the recently enhanced anti-fraud “3Dv2” security checks or that the time taken to enter a confirmatory security code, when this is required, is not done within the relatively limited time allowed. This can in some cases result in the bank declining to approve your transaction.

One of the most common reasons for this when it happens is that the full name and address you provide when purchasing online might not match exactly the details which your bank holds in your account records.

If this happens to you we are here to help - simply give me a telephone call on: 01872 222601 or +44 1872 22260 from outside the U.K. when I can take your order and card payment over the phone using our secure online “Virtual Terminal”.

A reminder: We never retain any details of clients’ credit or debit cards and if you wish to learn more about the 3Dv2 security systems you can do so online.

Printweek Magazine – article about our IoS 2023 Calendar

A few weeks ago we were approached unexpectedly by a journalist working for this magazine, the leading one serving the U.K. printing industry, asking for information for a planned article about us, our Blue Planet Images Isle of Scilly 2023 Calendar, our printers Booths Print of Cornwall and its design, printing and publication.

As well as providing the required information we also supplied as requested several images to accompany the article. We now wait to hear if and when this article will be published which we have been told will probably be in both their printed magazine and online in their website in “late December or early January”.

In case you work in the U.K. printing industry or see this magazine on newsstands in the U.K. you may be interested to keep a lookout for this article.

We hope to have more information on this in our next edition of this Newsletter.

… And finally:

Now for something completely different from what I usually share with you here:

As well as being a time for happiness and celebration Christmas and New Year’s Eve are for many, times for nostalgia and memories of times past as well as looking forward to the uncertainties of the future.

As I sat beside a lovely log fire yesterday on a cold winter evening remembering too many friends and family to whom we sadly can no longer send Christmas cards this year nor pick up the telephone for a chat, I remembered this lovely poem from J.R.R.Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” which I thought very apt at this time and so I share it with you now in the hope that you will like it – maybe you already know it?

“I sit beside the fire and think of all that I have seen,
of meadow-flowers and butterflies in summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and silver sun and wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring that I shall ever see.

For still there are so many things that I have never seen:
in every wood in every spring there is a different green.

I sit beside the fire and think of people long ago,
and people who will see a world that I shall never know.

But all the while I sit and think of times there were before,
I listen for returning feet and voices at the door.”.

With thanks and all good wishes at this festive season and for the coming New Year in 2023
