We at Blue Planet Images are as concerned as anyone to ensure that you can be confident that any information exchanged between you and us in the course of any communication via the Internet is kept private and confidential. This Privacy Policy is designed to give you that confidence and sets out the basis on which your personal data will be processed by us.
Blue Planet Images Co. Limited of Acre House, 11-15 William Road, London, NW1 3ER is responsible for processing your personal information.
Collection of Information

All requests for pages on our website are logged. The information that is logged includes the browser ( see “Definitions” below) you are using, the type of computer you are using, where you are connecting from and the page you are requesting. All of this information is passed to our server ( see “definitions” below) by your web browser. The browser cannot send personal information about you. This information is primarily used to see how busy our website is and which times of the day/week are busiest. In addition we can use this information to decide what functionality we can safely include on our website.
At some point in the future we may gather additional information, using cookies (see "Definitions" below), to determine which, and how many, pages each user is viewing. Such information will be used to see how our website is being viewed and, therefore, enable us to improve it in a more effective way

We may also collect information provided by you at the time you register to use our website, or we may ask you for information if you enter a competition on the site, or if you report a problem with the site.
All information retrieval is done using a unique session identifier to prevent a malicious party from forging a cookie in order to obtain your personal information. The number of unique session identifiers available is sufficiently huge that guessing it becomes extremely unlikely (think in the order of the number of grains of sand on all the beaches on earth, and probably more - We’ve not counted them recently!).
Use of your Information
Any information you give us, or that we obtain about you, will not be disclosed by us to any third party without your permission. If you wish, you can withdraw your permission, review or correct any information that we hold about you by contacting us at: info@blueplanetimages.com.

There may be instances where we may have to disclose your information, acting in good faith, in order to comply with certain legal obligations or we may have to exchange information with other companies and organisations in order to assist with fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
We are not responsible for the Privacy policies, if any, and the procedures maintained by third party websites, including whether they collect and/or sell personal information about users to their websites. We strongly recommend that, in case you contact these external websites, you satisfy yourself as to the acceptability by you of the terms and conditions of their data collection and privacy policies.
Cookies
Some sections of our website make extensive use of cookies in order to remember where you are on our website and what search parameters you are currently using e.g. the gallery location and keywords and the contents of your lightbox. You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access or use certain parts of our website.
Security

All purchases on the site are effected by Streamline via Secpay and their secure servers. All credit card information is transmitted to us, and on to Secpay, via secure encrypted link. You can look for the locked padlock icon on your browser to verify that your connection to Blue Planet Images is encrypted (usually the bottom right of your browser window). Your credit card number is not stored on our server, nor do we at Blue Planet Images have access to this data other than to pass it directly to Secpay for validation via secure link.
Personal information that you may supply to Blue Planet Images is stored in a password-protected format to prevent loss, misuse, or alteration of the data. As mentioned above, your credit card number is not stored on our server. Where appropriate, e.g., when credit card information is being transmitted, the connection to Blue Planet Images is made over an encrypted link. Unfortunately no transmission of data via the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100 percent secure.
Consequently, whilst we are committed to continued best efforts to protect your personal information, Blue Planet Images cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us in connection with our on-line product sales, and you do so at your own risk. Upon receipt of your transmitted personal data we promise to use best efforts to ensure its security on our systems.

A Reminder:

In other words in case you give personal data on line that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited communication from others in return.

Definitions
- Cookies
- A cookie is a piece of information that a website asks your browser to store on your computer. The website that issued the cookie can then request this information back to provide you with a customised page. It is used to link the current surfing session to an earlier one. The ticket you get from a dry-cleaning shop is a perfect mundane example of a cookie; the only thing it's useful for is to relate a later transaction to this one (so you get the same clothes back).
- Web Browser
- Used to locate and display Web pages via a software application. The most popular ones are Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- Web Server
- Delivers (serves up) web pages to your computer to be viewed with a web browser.
