NEW - CHARITABLE GOOD CAUSES :
VILLAGE EDUCATION PROJECT ( KILIMANJARO), TANZANIA:
A key stated aim of Blue Planet Images is the commitment to support selected, deserving & well run charities which are aiding those who are in need in travel and tourism locations in various parts of the world, and wildlife conservation programmes.
The first “good cause” that Blue Planet Images has selected to support is Village Education Project ( Kilimanjaro).
Through travelling to Tanzania with Guerba Expeditions ( website: www.guerba.co.uk ) some years ago, I first came to learn of the work of Village Education Project (Kilimanjaro) which Guerba themselves have greatly assisted, and continue to do so, for many years now, through fund raising and other practical and active support.
In what, at present, can only be a very modest way, Blue Planet Images and I, are already making some donations and feel that we can also give practical support in other ways such as publicity, and help with fund raising.
I urge you to more about this Project which is doing so much valuable work to aid the children, and indeed also the adults, in this part of Northern Tanzania, by visiting the website of Village Education Project ( Kilimanjaro) at:
It seems to me to be a most worthy cause that is helping to make a real and lasting difference to secure a better future for the children, and hence future generations in this part of Tanzania.
Local populations need to be given a stake in the benefits of the tourism industry, for it is only by making sure that local populations are well fed, housed, educated and employed that landscapes, wildlife habitats and wildlife itself can hope to survive in the long run.
In a world where we are all constantly being asked to give to charitable good causes, it is my impression that most people would be willing to give generously for the causes they believe in, provided they could be sure that the charity is well run, with the minimum reasonable amount going on administration. To the best of my knowledge that seems to me to be the case with Village Education Project ( Kilimanjaro ) – hence the decision to support them and invite you to do the same.
Thank you so much.
Robert Sanger
