Who we are
Blue Planet Images is a Company established in 2001 & owned by world travel, landscape and wildlife photographer Robert Sanger to promote the sale of his many thousands of pictures taken by him during his wide-ranging travels around the world & closer to home — a large and continually growing archive of pictures which is the Blue Planet Images stock photo library.
The Company’s primary activity is the design & production of a growing number of its own publications all of which showcase photographs by Robert – “The Blue Planet Images Collection” – currently consisting of:
- Photographic Greetings Cards
- Calendars of Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly in the U.K.
- Postcards – 3 series featuring: Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and the “ancient cinque port” towns of Rye & Winchelsea, U.K.
Where we are based
The Company relocated in 2006 from London to Truro in Cornwall, the “capital” of the county of Cornwall in South West England, an area famed for the natural beauty of its coastline and countryside.
What we do
Greetings Cards
We design, produce and publish a series of our own premium quality photographic greetings cards featuring fine, high quality, full colour prints of Robert Sanger’s photographic work from locations in Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, the Hebrides & Highlands of Scotland as well as the English Lake District in Cumbria. Picture subjects include close-up botanic photographs of flowers, gardens, beautiful scenic shots of coastlines & beaches, picturesque harbours, mountains & lakes. The series is being expanded each year with the addition of new cards, new subjects and new locations.
All our greetings cards are blank inside for you to write your own message, making them suitable to purchase for any occasion – such as birthdays, anniversaries, “Thank you” & “Good Luck” cards, sympathy and congratulations.
Calendars of Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly
Some 4 years ago at the request of some of our retail partners, we started to produce own design of “better-than-average” quality calendars of the Isles of Scilly and Cornwall at competitive prices.
The result has been three years of producing our ever more popular calendars with many repeat buyers.
Currently we are selling our calendars for 2012:
- Isles of Scilly 2012 Calendar
- Cornwall / Kernow 2012 Calendar (Kernow – “Cornwall” in the Celtic Cornish language).
These calendars feature recent photographs taken by Robert Sanger - beautiful & varied full colour pictures to bring pleasure throughout the year whether it is for your own use or to send as an attractive and useful gift to family and friends. A bonus 13th month – January in the following year - is included for your convenience at year-end, as well as a mailing envelope.
Postcards
As with all our Blue Planet Images publications, we aim to offer better than average “near-photo-print” quality picture postcards at a competitive price.
Now through the on-line shop in this website we are making these postcards available to you no matter where you happen to be – not just through retailers when you are visiting the places featured in our postcards.
With photography by Robert Sanger, we add new images to the series each year.
Stock Picture Library
The Blue Planet Images Picture Library is constantly growing and to date consists of some 40,000 photographs of many different parts of the world, all of which are the work of Robert Sanger. Of this number approximately 2,500 pictures may be seen in the Gallery section of this website.
Being based in Cornwall and publishing calendars and cards featuring Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, we have an especially large selection of pictures of the Isles of Scilly and Cornwall – far more than can be shown in the Gallery section of this website.
All images from the Blue Planet Images picture library are sold on a “rights managed” basis only. We no longer offer images for sale on-line with direct download from this website.
In case you have particular image requirements and cannot find what you seek in the Gallery in this website, we shall be happy to discuss your needs and try to find a suitable image.
